The Yoruba people believe that when we die, we fade into the distance. They do not see time as we do - with past, present, and future - but envision history with a spatial element. While souls live there, in the distant past, at the same time they reincarnate. Our ancestors come back to their lineage to love those once loved again, and so we ourselves have returned and will return for eternity.
